Got sent on a job Sunday, from the Agency, a shift at Stobarts at Crick. Did not know what to expect, but, good tackle, 10 plate Globetrotter, beats the Axor I have been driving for the last three months hands down. Handed all the paperwork for three drops and pick-ups, told to read the booklet about the rules and all info regards curtains, taillifts and all things to do with hurting yourself. Started at 06.45 and almost ran out of duty time, got back in the yard and fuelled up with three minutes of a 15 left. All in all, it was a pretty good days work, no one got on your case and if you had any problems it was sorted out with a call to base.
Now please don’t shoot me, but if it was like that all the time, I would seriously think about trying for a job there. Now all I have to do, is hang my head when the missus tells everyone I was on the Green Machine.
Re the shame of it … yes I see you were joking, but in all seriousness there are much worse places to work for whilst living the hgv dream Much MUCH worse places.
