Last time I was at a site where the ‘top table’ came for a nose around, someone accidentally dropped a some railway sleepers in a puddle… right beside their BMW.
One of our lads was delivering to one of our stores a few years back, delivering of the tail lift when a big BMW pulled up beside the tail lift, the driver advised him not to park there as he was unloading to which the car driver said I’m the manager of this store, this is my store I park were I want and then walked of, yes you guessed it a full cage of yogurts fell of the side of the tail lift right onto the roof of the car, not only made a mess but smashed the roof in, and to top it all the our firm refused to pay out for the damage as no one was allowed to park there…nice one.

I used to get that with the shop manager at various Wilkinson stores, cars parked in loading bays, cars parked in access roads etc. Always the manager was unavailable to come move their car while we delivered. A double blindside reverse into the bay at Doncaster Frenchgate (underground) found 1 car hidden on the bay & trashed it, a pallet of garden peat slipped off the tailift at Leigh and ended up on the bonnet of the managers car there. A refusal by the manager to move a car usually ended up in some form of damage with a roll cage falling
This almost to a tee, in Exeters M&S store.
Opposite the loading bay is the rear of other shops, a manager of one of the shops used to park his “Old” car there despite most drivers complaining he would never come out.
I went down there one day & where the “old” car was usually parked there was this Newish Audi ,this was back in 1990. So I started reversing in & out of no where this rotund 50+ yr old came out like a blinkin Whippet “Stop, Stop…I’ll just move it …stop”…
