Better thread title might have got more visibility mate (pun intended)

Now I know why my sat-nav traffic alert steered me away from getting on at gate 10 to gate 20.

Tried to exit gate 10, saw the truck behind that, thought it had broken down, followed the herd round the roundabout, back out on 20.

Come on. Who was it?

Suppose its an alternative to a bridge strike. Was it marked appropriately or is that disallowed by it being a listed structure?

Local outfit…should have known better :open_mouth:

It was a Williams shipping truck. The exit at dock gate 10 has the most clearance, it was the way we were told when the load was overheight, after the last strike at the same place,by the same company but by a different driver we were all supplied with height sticks.
Not sure this driver removed it from its protective case.

I’m sure that’s marked at 5.4m,nearly 18ft.

Just heard from our office that the dock entrance will now be closed until Tuesday…
