Heard a rumour that there had been a late amendment to new drivers regs, due in April.
That driving on docks and around distribution centres will not be classed as driving as origanally planned and can be classed as “off road/other work”.
Anybody know the truth!
I doubt that m8, these things are decided by bureaucrats in Europe these days and would probably take months if not years to change.
It depends upon your definition of a ‘journey.’
Probably find that if you don’t go on a ‘road open to the public’ then your driving will be classed ‘out of scope’ but to do this you would probably have to stay in the quarry or similar all day or the major part of it.
Watch out for the test case heading to Europe soon.

As I understand the new rules, if during any part of the shift you drive on a public road then no part of the driving during the shift would be classed as offroad irrespective of where the driving took place, it’s all or nothing now …well from April 11th anyway.
