Well I did call Norfolk Trucks and they’re not doing them either. Keep getting told Belgium is the nearest place. Haven’t checked the Toll Collect website to see.
This probably explains why the previous owner didn’t have the box removed.

Spilliers in Belgium were doing them as my mate had his repaired quite recently
Going by what my boss has mentioned.
To get an OBU fitted and set up, you first need to set up a trucks account with toll collect.
This would include a method of payment on a pay-as-you-go basis, eg payment through a fuel account.
They then issue you with a standard toll collect card with payment account details on it.
You make an appointment with an approved OBU service agent, who fits the box and transfers the details off the card into the box.
You can turn up with a new box for them to fit, get a new box through them for them to fit, or an old box for them to re-programme with the new details and fit. Presumably dealing with box supply when making the appointment to fit it. Programming the details in takes quite some time. I was there for over two hours, actually fitting the box only took about 30 minutes of that.
As your box is already fitted I would think you would fit into the third supply category. The box has the same type of fittings as a radio. You use the same type of bent wire whatsits to unclip it from your dash. The plug in the back should be sealed in though, so leave them to take it out.
When I had mine done in my new truck, I gave them (Best Trucks) a VAT number to have the job done VAT free.
Man trucks next to the truckstop in lokeren still fit and maintain maut boxes.
