Obituary.Jack Corrie

I read in our local paper last night of the sad loss of Jack Corrie.
Jack was the Middle East transport manager for Chapman and Ball in the mid '70’s.
He was not an easy man to get on with, but boy did he know his job!
With the demise of C & B Jack started up Litcor International along with Jeff Litwin,(Of Simon International),then for the last few years he founded and ran Halcyon Transport.
This is a personal loss to me as Jack was one of the band of Middle East drivers and transport managers from the Stoke area who all came into contact with each other during the '70’s and '80’s,and now there is one less to recite the tales of our best times.
Another reason for getting into print the stories of Middle East trucking before there is no one left to tell you about it.
Get that transport office in the sky organised Jack!
My condolences to his widow Monica.
RIP

Bestbooties,

I’ll second that, Jack was certainly one of the old school, had a few dealings with him over the past few years on sales and you can imagine what a hard bargain he drove !!

he was a hard man to deal with, but certainly knew the business and worked hard and it has to be said, was a fair man if you were straight with him.

I was told of this sad loss on Monday, thoughts and wishes go out to all concerned.

Regards
Ant
