Do you have to have at least one trailers worth of margin on your O licence if you want to pull someone elses trailer?
Just wondering as even if you only have a unit and do traction only you need authorisation for 1 vehicle + 1 trailer. If you then go out and buy a trailer of your own do you need to get that increased to 1 vehicle + 2 trailers if you want to still sub on a traction only basis?

Hi Paul,
The number of vehicles and trailers needs to be specified and authorised on an ‘o’ licence.
So, I’d say the answer to your question is ‘yes.’
I’d add that it might deped on the original number of vehs/trls presently authorised and the ‘margin’ (if any) on your ‘o’ licence, otherwise you might need to consider the ‘major change’ route.
I hope this helps.
