O licence continuation

Just wondering when your o licence comes up for the five year renewal if you have had no issues with vosa etc is it just a case of pay the fee and carry on or do you need to resubmit finace documents etc?

Just pay the fee, it’s “continuous licencing” now, they won’t want to see evidence of financial standing.

Did ours last year, as I recall we had to include financials.

Me as well.

i’'ll stand corrected then although my mate who has been going for 20 years or so says he has never been asked for financials after the original application.

ermmmmmmmmmm…

yes they will

Sorry, to have to be the smug one but, they didn’t for mine. Just same two vehicles specified for the whole period with the margin totally untouched so don’t know if that had anything to do with it.

when i did mine they didnt actually want to see financial documents as such but they did ask how much money you had laying about, account balance, available credit cards etc

So yes you do have to give written evidence of your finances but you dont have to physically show them

Some of you guys must lead very charmed lives! a colleague with 30 years of operation behind him no test failures,no prohibitions or any problems (not even a parking ticket) was put through the wringer, had to re submit financial details, maintenance details & digi downloads all took quite a while to sort out.A second colleague is in the process of trying to surrender his “O” licence due to retirement and has sold his vehicles to another operator they want to know is he insolvent/bankrupt or have any involvement with this other operator! err no at the age of 67 he’s had enough of lorries :exclamation:

splitshift:
had to re submit financial details, maintenance details

thats what i had to do, but its not as much of a ballache as some would make out

Q : how much money in the bank A: £XXXXX
Q: do you have access to any additional funds? A: Yes, £10,000 on 2 credit cards
Q: have your maintenance schedule/arrangements changed? A: No

its no big deal really

I’m pretty sure we were on red at the time thanks to an mot first time fail and no roadside encounters.

I think they probably have certain conditions that flags it up for human intervention - where if you’re obviously all above board you can guarantee no commonsense whatsoever will be applied.

Takes the ■■■■ a bit with bank interest what it is. Anyone know if they’re ok with the loot in premium bonds?

I thought there was no fee now, didn’t they up the annual test fee to cover it or am I thinking of something else?

This would be a good idea, but it takes 1 month to release them, also would you not need to have them in your company name?

There is a flat admin. fee on application/renewal/significant change…The fee for each O licence disc has been ‘incorporated’ into Annual Test fees. So irrespective on how many vehicles you have applied for, the admin. fee remains the same - not sure how much it is currently!!
Of course, you still need to prove appropriate Financial Standing for each vehicle authorised for any Standard O licence.
