Nuvi 465T

Bought one of these Sat-Nav thingjits for truck use - and today I took it out in a truck…

Saved the old “favourites” from my 200W and uploaded them to the 465T.

It allows you to set up multiple “Profiles” - but, as I was only planning to drive one truck - I just set one up.

It can be set to CAR or TRUCK mode - so I set it to truck mode.

Good points - It knows about low bridges, tight bends, weak bridges (half the villages in Wales are called Pont Wan). - The routing is as good, or perhaps a little better as the 200W and avoids stupid narrow lanes. and it comes with a free traffic data receiver - god alone knows if this actually works but it might.
The new display fields are an improvement on the selection on my 200W.

Bad Points:-
It knows diddley squat about speed limits - bimbling along a two lane blacktop A road it happily announced that the speed limit was 60, once I found a bit of dual carriageway - it said 70.
The Phone/Bluetooth thing is more than a bit flakey - the phone rang and I had to re-boot the sat-nav.

Things that make you go “Hmmmmm”:-
It does street names - it even tries to do welsh street names
The tiny wee man trapped inside sounds as though he is going (slowly) mad - but perhaps if he didn’t need to do welsh placenames, he’d be fine.

Try it in Poland and listen to the street names there!

Had one for over 12 months. Got 2 profiles set up one for my usual rigid and one for our average 7.5 no problems with it at all until I updated the software a few weeks ago, since then it keeps freezing up. But all in all definitely worth the money and would/have recommend to others

been allover euroland with mine and had no problems, as long as you still use the good old faithful mk 1 human eyeball/brain in combination
