Saw a TNT artic approaching Bristol on the m5 south bound at 4am this morning in the pitch black, no road lighting & he had no lights whatsoever on his truck/trailer. Now I’m up for it and would crack on when many perhaps wouldn’t being an owner driver/small haulier but even I wouldn’t be crazy enough to do this. He was right up behind another artic to presumably light his way, couldn’t make out if it was another TNT wagon helping him out or just some other trucker he was latched on to. If someone hit him from behind, he’d be up for chokey i’d say.
then we have the car drivers cruising on unlit motorways, in the persisting rain and spray , with just sidelights… rant rant… ONE DAY RODNEY, this world will be perfect.
These TNT bods always seem to be in a rush and not always subbies, sometimes double manned. I was dualing with one trying to overtake me the other night for about 8 miles, quite common with me and TNT as there limiters are set high like mine at 58mph. Then was getting looks at the pumps while fueling at the fleece from a TNT fella who i think i crossed by tapping my breaks while he was taillgaiting me.
Seen a TNT artic crashed the other week at abingdon, look like he had jacknifed, justice perhaps.
Hiya…I was a nutter one day…my lights just went out, instead of stopping on the hard shoulder
i followed a truck to the services where i could have a look without been squashed… did you ask the chap
if he had a problem or just pick fault with something you knew now’t about…
old time lorry driver
I didn’t think of that, I stand corrected sir. But let’s face it, it would have been a pretty big coincidence for me to have seen him just after all his lights went kaput and before leaving the motorway at the next available junction, just sayin’.
I was at TNT for over 8 years and the kit was kept emmaculate by the fitters, and there were bonuses for keeping them clean. They were hot on defects. having said all that the trunkers are on tight windows, the individual depots got fined for late arrivals in roughly 1/2 hour windows, and mine was a 3hr trunk , don’t know if this has changed. I know there is a depot in Bristol, maybe he was running in. Personally I loved working there the pay and low hours were great.
yes you are a nutter, you saw another driver obviously having electrical problems who was most probably trying to get his unlit vehicle to a place of safety for all road users, a moving unlit vehicle is far better to hit than a unlit one on the hard shoulder, you should have pulled in behind him and acted as an ■■■■■■ but instead
you just come on here and ■■■■■
NUTTER indeed
all the TNT stuff in ireland is run by subbies, id a great time working out of dublin for willsborough transport (on local)
but ive done some traction work with my boss’s truck here in australia for TNT on melbourne - sydney, and there is no room for messing around, they dont tolerate late, but at the same time they will complain (in writing) if you do the job in less than legal hours, pain in the arse

I did some work for TNT at Winsford when I first retired ,through a local agency.
They had the ■■■■■■■■ trucks it’s been my displeasure to drive and I couldn’t wait to get off.
This was 9 years ago, maybe things have got better.

Am I the only one thinking it was Smashed Crab Face playing one of his little games?

Maybe his electric Susie came fell out as he was negotiating a tight bend or something and he didn’t notice. I would have thought if he knew he wouldn’t carry on.

By the time the OP had got to the next junction, turned around and chased after them to pull in behind them they would probably have been long gone ya Nutter. Just saying.

No, the thought also crossed my mind. Then I remembered SCF talked ■■■■■■■■.
Try using the argument with plod, ‘I was just going to next juncton, services whatever’ and see how far it gets you. Thats what hard shoulders are for! If he was travelling with someone then his mate should have parked behind him on the hard shoulder with hazards on. God forbid you get rear ended by some ■■■■■ in a car when you know you’ve got no lights! Total tool in my opinion.

Not me mine is limited to 86 kms max
i am a driver on for J.R.Smith subbing for TNT
And must agree TNT own trucks do come pass me like i’m standing still I’m well jealous
But hang on I’m on hourly paid i will stick to 86 kms

What all of TNT own motors at Northampton ? I have driven them all and they ain’t that quick . But KX60 HBN may be a little quicker
skids:
I sometimes forget to put my lights on. My scania, the dash clocks are always lit up when ignition is on which I’ve never had on any other truck/car.
As a Scania driver shouldn’t at least your fog lights be on at all times? You’ll be drummed out of the club if your driving about with them off.
