About 15 miles difference
A34/A303 every time. I did the same route in reverse 3 weeks ago reasoning that surely the road south of Salisbury couldn’t still be blocked by the roadworks road closure. WRONG!!! My, how I and the locals laughed as I took my ridiculous killing machine extremely close to their well manicured lawns.
Not to self; when seeing signs stating " unsuitable for heavy goods vehicles" do NOT see that as some sort of challenge to your manhood, and do not respond with “huh, I’ll be the judge of that”. 
Just to add, it was Amesbury to Downton that I was travelling.

Nah, “unsuitable for HGV” means that the locals dont have the cloud (or backhanders) to get a full “7.5 weight limit”…
Any driver who delivers/collects from farms barely noticed these signs.
Ask Rob, or a grown up, to confirm.
