Nude pin-ups

Garage mechanic, Alan Jeffery, has been told if he doesn’t take down his pictures of naked girls he’ll lose his apprentice!

Mr Jeffery insists they are an essential part of garage culture enjoyed by generations of mechanics.

Should all pin-ups be consigned to history as offensive or are they a harmless brightening of the day?

I wonder if the PC brigade who no doubt have made this an issue would insist the same thing is done in a goods-in I used to go to. It was operated by women and they had pin-ups of blokes all over the place. After the initial shock of seeing these type of pictures I thought sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
The only thing is I think there is a differance between Glamour photos and pornagraphic.

Harmless fun without a doubt, and the girls/boys that pose for these pics do it willingly and want to do it who would have heard of Sam Fox, Jordan etc without this type of start and now they earn more in an hour than any of us do tossing burgers for a week.

In my opinion they is nothing more offensive than busy bodies telling you what you can or can not do!

Harmless Fun!!!

totally for them.
especially the civil and marine calender… top totty in that

Its a bit like page 3, harmless.

There will always be people who take offence to something, and some people go out of there way to be offended.

However there is no absolutes. If a woman does find them genuinly offencive she should just say so, then the should be removed (afterall blokes you have a real woman, in the flesh) sorry I know offencive

A final point, is the human body realy offencive?, sure you ve all seen the reaction to Janet Jacksons breast in America, talk about childish (afterall how many breasts are there in the world  ) Now something that is offencive is all those beer guts around, LOOSE THEM no one wants them.

I have worked in a Childrens home & a forensic unit. I have seen evidence used in trials of ■■■■■■ offenders, some of which would not cause concern if viewed on its own, but when part of a collection forms a disturbing pattern.
Harmless fun to most of us can be part of an unplesant lifestyle for others, but that does not make that material offensive or give cause for its banning.

If I stuck a pin up of my ex in cab window I would have NO MORE WORRY`S about hyjackers :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

Relish with yr burgers lads■■?

totally agree…

Personally, I couldnt give a monkey’s what pictures people want to put up, but theres always somebody ready to get offended.

Mal.

Yup, post pictures of semi-clad women if you want. I don’t mind.

And you can’t complain if we post pictures of our local firemen with their hoses out

Obviously the women posing for the pictures don’t care if you guys drool over them… so what do I care? Ya don’t have any nudies of me posted anywhere do you? hahaha

Amen to that brother.

I like to think of myself a broad minded but I have some reservations about this whole issue of pin ups when…THEY ARE IN PUBLIC PLACES. Page 3 type pictures you can avoid if you wish by not buying the paper, art gallaries you can avoid if you feel uncomfortable, films have a classification that give an insight into type of material within.

Most of all I get very embarressed by these pictures when I’m with my daughter, not that she seems to suffer the same embarresment, if anything she seems to enjoy MY DISCOMFORT.

I would not want them banned totally but some indication about their display to give me the chance to avoid them, when I’m with my children, would be preferable. I would add that most of the commercial premises I visit have no pin-ups in these public areas though, if our fleet trucks are any indication, there is quite a selection available for discreet brightening of the day. :open_mouth:

Good point Wiretwister, and well made.

How did we end up in this ridiculous situation where the people in society who think that the only way is their way ended up in charge?
