Nuclear convoy truck

The other day I was driving back to the yard when one of the Army’s nuclear transport trucks drove past in the other direction, looked like an Actros but had a different manufacturers badge on the grill :sunglasses:

:unamused:

Might have been a Sisu, they use Actros cabs.

They are Mercs, although highly modified

thats no excuse ! should be willing to pay £60 to take a photo for your fellow TruckNetters! :smiling_imp:

i think it should be against the law to photograph any military convoy
just think if the information gets into the wrong hands.
you could be innocently weaving in and out of traffic on your bike, and making a video of other road users, then you are overtaken by a military convoy. you are then spotted with a helmet camera, then “BANG”, shot on sight.

Magnatit is taking over this forum :astonished: That’s three threads he’s been named in…
I know you didn’t NAME him - but I think we all know who you would like to be shot

Cyclists weaving in and out of traffic should be shot anyway :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

Just noticed the white number plates on the trucks - white number plates on a military vehicle iindicate a prototype

I thought they delivered these by missile normally

Heading to or from the AWE at Aldermaston no doubt. (Atomic Weapons Establishment)
Actually Civilian trucks driven by civilians, but escorted and guarded by the MOD, Similar set up the the Oshkosh HET’s in Afghan that run out of Tidworth, owned and run by Civilians, A company called KBR (http://www.ftxlog.com/).
And about photography, there is nothing to say you cant photograph them, on a Public road, Think about all the CCTV cameras along there route and not to mention motorway cameras that are freely accessible on the highways agency site.

Look like this?

i seen a load of them on the m1 a couple of weeks back they are mercs with the badges removed coppers at front and rear they were impressive

The one I saw had a taller cab than the ones in the pic and had a blue badge in place of the Merc badge
The times Ive done lates for work and I havent seen one convoy going out yet, our yard is slap bang in the middle of the 2 AWE sites…!!!
I’d still like a shot at driving one though :sunglasses:
