Was truck driver for GPO/BT now retired long time caravan towing, have including tow vehicle about 33ft unit have Garmin sat but tries taking us down narrow roads which doesn’t help if you meet in France the biggest combined harvester I’ve seen so big it had ■■■■■■ vans back and front and had to un hook unit to drive on motor mover into a drive of a house French owners very understanding took the car in too until load passed, wouldn’t accept money just a shake of hands and the standard kiss on the cheeks of his ‘er in doors’ that bit I enjoyed, very tasty lass.
Want truck sat basic (weren’t around when I was driving) seen Noza tec £48.99 and a Road king £60 which is best, or any other make, to enable to enter way points to keep me on major roads? my current Garmin don’t know I’m towing and tried taking me on unmade road between vine yards in France on holiday, couldn’t afford £300 for caravan one, and just need basic one to keep on the larger roads being able to program own route. The Garmin is fine when riding around without caravan. My only other problem is currently 3 sat nav’s Old Garmin 250, a Garmin 54 and ‘er in doors’ problem! two can be turned off.
Many thanks
I’m sorry, maybe it’s just me but I have not got a clue what you’re on about,I’m guessing it’s something to do with sat nav’s but the rest is just chunter!
It looks like this new member should of put this post onto the Euro Driving Forum so maybe the Mods can move it.
I was hoping that it was a thread about Sandman Norman and Harry Gill. How they ever got from A to B without a satnav we might never know.
How on earth did I do 43 yrs on the road without one
A funny tale about satnavs though, a few years ago I was on my motorbike in Holland and saw a Dutch biker stopped at the side of the road, his sat-nav had failed and he had no idea where he was ( about 60k from his home on a small N road !), anyway it turns out he’s going to the same small motorbike rally I’m going to in Saint Jansklooster nr. Vollenhove. He asks if I have a sat nav or map ? no but I know the way, so he follows me the 100k or so to this camp field in the middle of nowhere, I had only ever navigated by road signs but when we arrived he thanked me and said he would have never found it, the Dutch guy’s there gave him some stick about asking an English guy for directions but we had a good laugh about it.

Yes your right but bet you had to use a dictionary to assist your response.
Forgot some can’t see a question or warning that’s staring them in the face. A Nova Tech Or a Road king X20 sat nav? how many low bridges have you hit because you didn’t have your dictionary with you look up the warning sign?

I think you need a dictionary Mr Numpty as your question reads Noza Tec!

Bet you didn’t notice you were entering a Forum of Old Time Drivers did you ? No Warning Signs at all. We unfortunately had to get out and check if we were ever unsure of an obstacle like a Low Bridge. Though it’s understandable that it would be a great hardship for a Modern Driver to do this. I mean imagine having to take out your Radio Ear Plugs, put your Game Boy down for five minutes, or even, dare I say it but also your Mobile Phone. Pull aside those Curtains that stretch right across your Window, just imagine all the inconvenience it would cause. So now all is explained, we know we need buy an expensive electronic device to do our jobs for us. I don’t think so.
