Now the real hard work starts

Hi,

I’m first post on here…so ‘hi’ to everyone.

Well I have today passed my class 2 test and now need to start the search for a job! Any tips on where to start? Agencies that should by avoided/are worth contacting? I’m getting my cv etc…together and will go into local companies asking for work.

I’m based between junction 25-26 (Derby/Nottingham) on the M1.

Any advice/help would be gratefully received.

Thanks.

Well done on passing Gaz. Only advice I would give is to not eat yellow snow.

Well done on passing Gaz…

I am due for my test next week, but during some research I came across a website listing a few driving agencies on it. Even though a few of them are London based, it seem some do offer jobs in other areas as well. They might be of help to you … am gonna try a few after the examiner says the magic word to me next week.

Check them out on 020.co.uk/e/employment-agenc … ndon.shtml

I would not bother Emailing or posting Cv,s to prospective employers, they will not reply.
Visiting firms in person is better, but not at busy times.
The Dvsa website lists applications and decisions, that list small to large transport firms in your area. Or Vosa website.

I passed In jan just to get your foot in

Joining a Agency will be your best to start with
Its a nightmare joining with them then nothing or they ring you friday night   and ask to cover just keep trying
