After my drop in Inverness this morning ( see previous post) I got one off in Aberdeen & one more tomorrow at the Y.H.A. I followed the signs for lorry park it’s on an ind est. Just got parked & a guy shouts over “can’t park there it’s our land” So moved again & same again “we rent this bit can’t park there, go see guy in café”
So the guy in the café says it’s chaos, anyway he found me a spot, I didn’t have nothing to eat but had a shower(£3 ) parking £9, boss is paying. I don’t know who runs it but I call it a dump! Does anyone know anywhere else for future reference?
Old ford road/ Palmerston road. Enter via Russell road, it’s a tiny little industrial area at the back of the train station. Head there for any time after 1800 so al the cars have gone. Better than parking down by the docks with the lady’s of the night!!
Parked there last week and I have to agree the place is a dump. Nowhere to park and the toilets were closed all night had to go out the back gate to the shell garage. The bloke in the cafe was in a rush so would only do me a takeaway meal. Next try asda at portlethen you can park at the bottom of the car park.
The “lorry park” signs mean nothing and should have been removed 10 years ago !!
as above, better off heading down to Portlethen, youll get Asda for anything you need, including toilets, a couple of takeaways if you want. not sure about a shower in the area but probably a better night and get a shower the next day
Where you went over the bridge down by the docks to the little ra turn left on the ra parallel the park towards the end of that road there’s a crane company on there I’ve parked opposite that crane company before now - James lifting I think it’s called big green cranes anyhow
In general parking in Scotland isn’t to bad with a big majority of towns and villages having some sort of parking available but for the amount of hgv traffic that Aberdeen attracts parking facilities there are terrible.
If you cook in the cab there is plenty of place you can get parked up but none with any facilities which is ok if your only there for one night but if like me your sometimes there for a few nights then your reduced to grovelling to some of your customers to use there facilities just to get a wash or if your lucky a shower.
Need some help.Must be 20yrs[been ret 13yrs]since I was in Aberdeen but coming into Aberdeen from the south there was a lorry park signed off the rd,i followed sign and eventually arrived the park it was big, like a swamp coz it was raining, there were toilet and washing facilities [limited]and it cost £5.00.just outside was a café ok but expensive and about 10mins walk a pub.Off my rambling directions can anyone place this park and is it still open.
