Now im worried

I had to send my licence off for renewal as I reached 45. On the form I put I wished to renew both my hgv and pcv but had to declare an unspent conviction. 6 weeks later still not got it back. Just spoken to dvla and they said the traffic commissioner is dealing with it due to conviction. I asked if it just affects my pcv or both, as it did say on the form for pcv only. Dvla said first time I spoke to them its only pcv but just now they say it includes both. Seriously worried cos if he takes both im screwed. Wish id just let the pcv go and renew my hgv but I thought id be honest. Anyone know anything about this please?

Depends what the conviction is for

The conviction would affect LGV whether you renewed PCV or not

why the form said it was for PCV only seems very odd because even if gained whilst driving a car it affects LGV

Whatever is on the licence affects everything in the LGV & PCV range

I assume this was a traffic conviction and not an unspent conviction for anything else?

I was accused of exposing myself to 2 women. I was having a ■■■■■ in a place I thought was discreet. They told the coppers I’d got it out and asked if they wanted some. Total crap amd anybody who knows me will tell you it did t happen. The lied in court and were caught out. Even my brief was gobsmacked when I was convicted

But had I just asked for my hgv to be renewed would they know about the conviction?

Shouldn’t have declared it, I doubt it would have come up.

I’ll eat my hat if getting your knob out means you lose your licence. Chill.

Not funny when it affects ya job mate.

I doubt it would have come up.

Quality

yes - whatever it is would be on your general records

I’m sorry. You’re quite right; it’s not funny.

What does make me laugh is I may not be a fit a proper person to drive a lorry but I can still drive a car…like driving a lorry makes me get my knob out.

Dont mind a ■■■■ take but it has affected my working life. Even some haulage firms wont touch me just in case…every time I have had to declare it at interviews for other jobs iys been no sorry, and after 25 rejections it starts getting ya down. The two witnesses dont realise how much theyve ■■■■■■ things up with their lies

If these 2 women were telling a lie. What did the magistrates say that made them decide to convict you?

I thought having a ■■■■ was ok as long as it is not obscene?

They said they thought I was going to ■■■■ them. One said she had rung the police but admitted she didnt have her phone on her. The other said she rang the police 8 times but the police records showed the police were called once and from a different phone. She said the police were wrong. One magistrate didnt agree with the verdict, the others said they believed tbe witnesses. A mate of mine whos a copper came with me and said there was no way it was a conviction. Even my brief was shocked. Could appeal but there was no new evidence

O and when I was nicked a month after the bill said they took that long because I wasnt a risk or that urgent. Everyones entitles to their opinion, and I would be thinking there’s no smoke without fire, but everyone who knows me will testify that to do what was alleged is not something I would do.

To be fair driving a truck I have spotted both genders having a caught short for pee but discreet.

So its got to the point now that if a woman just “Thinks” a man is going to ■■■■ her then he is going to be convicted.

Everything was recorded in court and can prove im not talking arse

you need too get a new brief as the one you had is crap, then appeal it on a miscarriage of justice, if what you say is true then the evidence is in your favour, if it was me i would be fighting too clear my name because with that on the record you might get turned down for work, a foreign holiday/relocating and the bad news is that some insurance companys are now requiring you too disclose any non motoring related offences

It was 4 years ago, and i did speak to the copper mate of mine about appealing, but with no new evidence, and the witnesses knowing what they are likely to be asked he said it was a risk, and it could end up with a bigger punishment. I also spoke to a different brief and they said the same. Europe for holidays is not a problem, but America and Australia are. Also i cannot afford another brief, and legal aid is means tested against me and the wife i cannot get it. I would love to clear my name, as with that on my record i will never get a clean CRB check, should i ever need one, but 4 years down the line, i really just think, move on, in 12 months it will be spent. And yes, everything i have said is the truth.
