Now for something completely different

No it’s not a larch.

4x 25’ Christmas trees loaded at Elveden Forest

First one outside Brentwood Town hall

Next one was the church behind the High Street, reverse down a one way street through a gateway 8" wider than the truck and try not to hit the church doorway.

3rd one for the High Street in Brentwood, last one went by the station but no pic.

Had to load this aircraft cockpit a while back, it was stuck in a hangar on a trolley with flat tyres. Towed it out with a chain on the front of the lorry.

The only way to get on so it wouldn’t be a wide load was to stand it up, this was tricky as there were other complete serviceable aircraft around it. Helpfully the two blokes who’d sold it buggered off to the cafe when I did this. I’ll not say what and where as I’ll do a where am I with the first pic of the cockpit.

A couple of days before doing the trees, I’d complained that there were not many new experiences anymore, the aircraft is unusual but I’ve done similar before. Christmas trees was a new one.

What other different / unusual stuff have you lot been up to this year then?

That beats the hell out of a full load of bog roll, which was my fare for today.

Hope you enjoyed it!

You swapped the Xmas Trees for a Cockpit?
What say your children to that?

And deal with the Christmas shopping public too
Hat’s off fella - Merry Christmas.

2 new things I’ve done this year:

1st time I’ve had to open the roof to get one on

And I ate a horse. Well, a bit of one. In the land of frog.

Actually it was quite a nice thing to do, it was mid afternoon at the end of November so not too busy. Local bods seemed cheered by the arrival of Christmas in the town.

One of three drivers on this job, was in Hampstead, London, had a tight 90 degree blindside reverse into a very expensive private housing estate. 8 trailers were delievered i took 3 and each one had 2 tree’s on costing something like 16k each.

The trees were lifted out of the trailer, you then pulled forward they’d lay the tree on the ground then sling it so when it was lifted it stood up right, then it was craned over the house into the garden were they planted it then come back for the next one. Was very time consuming and took most of the week to complete.
