Going back to middle east work on BRS Overland, I spoke to a old driver Keith Shirley who got robbed and beatened up when he broke down on the mountain Tihir, he was only 5’ 4" tall, he was with Colin Wright at the time but stopped to to talk and was set upon. He also got a pasting when alone when on the services just outside Glasgow, I tell you this to show what a unlucky chap he was, then at 60 he found out he had M/S, now at 64 he can only walk a few steps, but still when we chattered about our middle east times and on Carlsberg, he chuckled on the phone and said we had great times Norman didn’t we!   what a guy.

Well lads I saw my brother last wednesday, had a chat for about two and half hours, he is ok, but gets tired and needs to sleep for a few hours, but in time he will build up his strength, well I must go to bed a little earlier so ready for the coach in the morning. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

hiya,
You must be asleep by this time Norm I know how worn out you elderly gentlemen become, pleased your brother is on the mend and also have a nice break but don’t try to do any distance work on the I.O.W. or you’ll get wet.
thanks harry long retired.

Hello Dave my old mucker     thank you and Harry and all the regular gang for your very nice comment and best wishes for my brother Reg. Well in less than a week, we was in Great Yarmouth, then Yarmouth, the latter was a lot smaller, I took my laptop, and got on the net, but the hotel had a block on social sites, but I could get my " SKY" on it.

Glad you had a good holiday Norm, hope your brother is still making good progress.
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
Hope Bruv is making good progress Norm, and that yourself and the Colleen managed to get your knees brown on the your break down South and just pleased you didn’t take the long distance job on the I.O.W…
thanks harry long retired,

Harry & Dave brother the same as when I last saw him, but it will take time to build himself up, but he still has a great sense of humour, I cannot imagine who he get that from! :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Going back to transport, a coach firm which started in the early 50’ in Northampton closed down, it is a shame, Wallace Arnold was taken over by Sheering’s and no more heard of. York’s & Jeffrey’s are part of the Bowen group, small firms seem few nowaday’s.

Yesterday was the third year since I put this thread up,don’t time fly when you are enjoying yourself.

Keep it going Norm.Three years is a long time, well done.
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
WELL DONE GOOD BUDDY,
Doesn’t time fly when your having fun Norm, just wonder how many times “The Colleen” has complained about the time spent on your computer, I’m OK I pretend I’m deaf, in one ear and out the other she reckons there is nothing in there to stop it, just plead insanity Norm and you get away with murder.
thanks harry long retired.
