Nottingham bus firm( middle east work

Just a little tale of the afore mentioned West Berlin club across the road from the Londra Camping, back in about 76 I was working for the infamous Popley brothers out of Dartford and was stuck in Istambul for a few days with paperwork problems so myself and one of their other drivers Steve went in the W/B for a beer; after refusing the attentions of a couple of experts of the horizontal pleasures for a while we decided to cut our losses and pay up before it got really expensive. We paid half each and received a load of change, unusual in itself we did’nt hang about making our exit only to find upon divvying up the change that we had got more back than we’d paid, not often a Turk has himself over.We must have been the only people to come out of there with more than we went in with, especially when as I heard it they pulled the building down there were several skeletons found underneath, can anyone else verify that?
Chazzer.

Chazzer, the last time I was in there was in 1977, I know a few people in there was shot, so I am not surprised that old bodies were found, it was a dangerous place to be in, if you did not behave yourself, but myself have no proof of what you have said, but being a betting man, I would say it is a 5to 1 on chance of being true    :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

hiya,
Yes the Eden arms never been in there but have passed it many times it’s on the original A1 now the A167 just a few miles south of Durham,a bit like a motel type establishment it’s on a roundabout right for Coxoe left for Spennymoor/Bishop Auckland if you’re going northwards about 15 miles south from my place.
thanks harry long retired.

Harry, that is quiet a walk away, after a couple of appletizers, I thought it would be nearer than that, when I read Durham on the list, hmm I will have to have a think about it?

hhiya,
Norm i can’t walk 15 minutes let alone 15 miles, that place is a bit out in the sticks there’s nothing there except sheep.

hiya,
Dave would have a motorbike tomorrow but haven’t got the licence now it returned from being renewed at Swansea a lot of years ago without being added and never noticed until about 12 years ago when i was going to buy a bike to get to and from work, the dealer spotted the omission when i produced my licence for ID purposes decided it would be too much trouble to try and get it back so the biker dream came to an end, now Norman let me deal with you, you cheeky young whippersnapper invalid three wheeler indeed, when i need one of them there’s a steep bank just outside my house and i’ll go down it in silent seventh having disconnected the anchors first, splat.
thanks harry long retired.

Hi Harry,
Same here with moterbikes, had a full license for them, but after my RTA had to forget that part of my license, not that I,m worried about it,prefer to be in the warm and dry,did enjoy bikes years ago.I like a bit more comfort these days.
Cheers Dave.
