Harry I know what a fine upright citizen you are, never, never, would you overload ha ha ha, I believe in fairy’s too?? Sandman Norman
hiya,
have picked trailers up at seaports which you knew the minute you tried to get under them that they was over the knot, but they was usually sealed and the paperwork in order so you could’nt do much about it, Norm but to go and load a trailer for myself to drag around just could’nt see the point and you got nothing extra for your trouble and a chance of a hefty fine if you got pulled.
thanks harry long retired
I feel sorry for the continental drivers of today, with all them people trying to get into UK, you need eye’s in your backside, to keep them out of your lorry, they should make the custom area’s more safe, not blame the driver, they have enough to cope with, without doing other countries work for them, the next thing, they will be making it compulsery to buy thermal image equipment, and scan the rig half a dozen times, before they leave the continent. A strange thing happened when we came out the train station, our taxi was waiting to pick us up, and he came from Hungary, I told him the short way to my home, trust me, I was a lorry driver, when he told me, where he came from. I told him I had been through his country manytimes, but could never speak his language, then told him my firm and lorry, and he said he remembered them comming through his villiage, when he was a young lad, he was attracted by the bright red & white colours, and when he dropped us off at my bungalow, he shook my hand as if he had knowm me for years. That is sad Keith, what a pair of miserable sods.
N.G.Grocott was the original firm wasn’t it? Am I showing my age?
Hi boys
Yes your right Chris I believe Mrs Grocott used to drive a cattle truck herself. The firm was built up by Ray Grocott, he’s still around, was talking to him on monday when delivering plant to a new store their having built at Whitchurch. The day to day running is now done by his children David and Linda.A very nice down to earth family.
Regards Keith

Thats North Wales Chris. I’m in Mid Wales right next to the Hereford border.
hiya,
used to see the Penrhyn boys coming out of North Wales early mornings in the early 70s when i was making my way to Courtaulds at Flint, pulled mainly slate if my memory is still working always tidy motors.
thanks harry long retired.
So you didn’t get up that way then Dave?
You weren’t missing much in the winter, parts of the Isle of Man are like Bethesda, complete with slate.
Keith, you are being cheeky to your elders, keep that up, and I will borrow Harrys knotted rope. No I never had any knooky in that place, some gorgeous girls there, but couldn’t speak the lingo, but was informed that a lot of ■■■■■■ was happening in that place, for the daughters were so beautiful, and I would not argue that they were not. SAndman Norman
hiya,
Norm, had the knotted rope confiscated by a new organisation NAACTTB “the national association against cruelty to trailer boys” no fun in life anymore, glad i’m well out of it.
thanks harry long retired.
Well harry, I think just the threat would have keith shuddering in his boots, you cannot have these youngsters, with the cradle marks on there bottoms just fading away, being dis- respective against old codgers like us ha ha ha, he makes me sound as I was a ■■■ mad, when I was only premoting friendship. Sandman Norman
hiya,
Norm, there’s no justice in the world stopping an elderly gentleman having a bit of fun, just have to start beating the missus every now and again to keep in practice you can’t let skills of that nature fade away.
thanks harry long retired.
Harry you know and I know, you think the world of your wife, and would not raise your hand to her, for she was there for you in the hard times, loyalty is a great thing in a woman, keep you clean, keep you fed, and watch the pennies, and love you with all your faults, and look after the children, ■■■ is nice, but not the most important thing in marriage, to trust and rely on your partner is a big bonus.
