Not quite a wannabe, but

Yes, I was. I missed a comma out then created confusion.

Don’t worry I don’t use punctuation

Why don’t you just go do your C

Goldilox:
Just checked my licence and if I am reading it correctly I can drive C1 D1 and C1E. Can’t think the C1E is right as the little picture looks like a wag and drag! :astonished:

Hmmm, free assessment drives, sounds good

I didn’t realise the term puddle jumper was derogatory - thought it was an affectionate nickname, lol

The units arent that bad, its the drivers. That being said, my best job (so far) was in a 7.5t.

Probably best thing to do first is get my medical then decide in the meantime. I had looked around for trainers a good few weeks ago, then looked at them on street view.

Thanks for input.

Nowt stopping you going to visit a few trainers there are some here you

So, to sum up… I would definitely need a medical regardless of when I took my test and regardless if it says C? ( can’t remember what I put now as I can’t look back from this reply box) and regardless of not even wanting to take the actual test?? The provisional. I think I told Mr Tachograph that I am included up to 7.5T. Does that mean UNDER or actual? Sorry about any dimwittery on my part - just that I don’t want to shell out on stuff I don’t need, and I would like to crack on with this.

What about the types of vehicles the trainers use? I would prefer one where the seat would go quite high as I wouldn’t want to be looking through the steering wheel - exaggeration I know, but I would like to be high up as poss. Also, years ago I had to drive 2 white vans in one week. One of them was a Merc ( I think) and I remember sometimes having to use 2 hands to change some gears  and the other one was a Ford and it was much better than the Merc. Or was is the other way round…

On the assumption you’re a blonde Goldilox, you’re starting to give even them a bad name…

Remember if you sit high up you will still have to be able to reach the accelerator & break

I drove vans for a long time never had a problem changing gear & drove quite a few

As some members know I am not that tall & don’t have a problem driving CE so just go for it find a good trainer go talk to them ask if can sit in the vehicle see how you feel

There will be some near you or you may have to travel not that far though as I went from Newcastle down to Chelmford for my test as I used John Flair training ( he is a member on here ) there are also several other trainers on here you could ask if you can go visit just a though

Just get your C done and dusted.

Not convinced the OP actually intends doing anything!

Pete

As far as I’m aware, even though you have cat C1 on your licence you will need a medical to drive a cat C HGV on a provisional licence, I’m sure someone will say if that’s wrong.

The provisional. I think I told Mr Tachograph that I am included up to 7.5T. Does that mean UNDER or actual?
Cat C1 which is what you should have on your licence is any goods vehicle not exceeding 7.5t and you can pull a trailer up-to 750kg.
Cat C1+E which you should also have on your licence is a goods vehicle not exceeding 7.5t with a trailer that can be over 750kg, however the code 107 restricts you to 8.25t gross weight.

Didn’t mean to procrastinate, Pete :frowning: I’m trying to cross the i’s and t’s for myself so to speak, and I have been reading up a bit on the stickies also ( something about drains on roundabouts :astonished: ) So now I can get done and dusted, or should it be dusted and done  Thanks animal for sharing your views on vans, gears, etc. and Tacho for the techy bits.

As for you Beezle, well, I don’t know what to say, as I thought you were a laydeeee who drank pink gin ( or was it blue?) Also try and remember that gold is not the same colour as blonde; now go and make a coq or van to go with your Gordon’s

I didn’t realise his boyfriend was called Gordon.

Shhhh, we don’t want ā€˜you know who’ to find out…or do we? The K word!

Is that Gordon, Radar?

Rubbish lip liner job, if I may say

I have no idea whats going but I’ll leave this year.

Got my drink right here!

The sad part is, that’s really my mug! :open_mouth:
