Personally, I can’t get enough of them.
I’ve been going through similar, took 6month from first A&E visit to operation day!!
Had a suspected fracture, turns out to be a very fine hair line crack with a ripped crucious(spelling) ligament, ruptured my left lower cushion, right lower cushion, and had a large lump of debris hanging off joint along with cartilage damage/tissue swelling all in too boot, I jumped out of a moving truck an erm landed funny 
■■■■■■■ agony, so after being poisoned by A&E because they gave me all the wrong meds, given crutches for a midget, useless consultant getting diagnosis wrong 3 times, and some clerical errors I finally decided id take two weeks off from running 50mile a day, loading 15 ton , across all terrain, in all weathers, and put me feet up an see what happens…
So two weeks later its d-day…surgeon is late, comes up to examine me and says how you feel?
I say good, he says we do a quick MRI again, hour later he comes back and says the lump that were in there re enveloped, he cant see a crack, and if he honest and go in to fix anything I be out for a year, and back after 5yrs for a whole knee, if the ligament holds that long.
So his advice, change career, we make a follow up for January…(still waiting)…and see where we go…Apparently I’m a bit of a bionic man an heal very very well naturally hahahaha.
Alas I went back to work 3days after, and you know what…■■■■ me it kills every day no matter what I do, but he got the career bit right as I’m no longer doing it ffs lol
So op to summarise, I feel ya pain, and at least one thing good came of it for me, I could prove my agency limp were genuine

Spent most of yesterday loitering without intent in the A&E again, lag put the CT ■■■■■ thingy came out with a ‘splint’ thingy (as much use as a chocolate fireguard) and a pair of crutches.
Had a visit to arfur o’scopy back in '97 when they took a whole load of crap out of that knee.

All this knee trembling problems seems abit Liberal Democtat to me .My grandfather chopped his knee cap clean off whilst trimming a hay rick during WW2 .
He was home on sick leave after being shot in other leg by our friends the RomBulHun mob .
And id like to say he never moaned about this during rest of his life …
But that was not the case
When I was young, we used to go out of our way to experience a “Knee trembling problem”, often up some back alley around the back of the local disco/nightclub…
