Not a Truck but certainly different

Followed this up in the hills to Guadalest just north of Benidorm last month.Must have been at least 50-55ft long with front & rear wheel steer.
If you look through the windows & see the bus parked next to it you will get a bit idea to it`s length.Never seen a bus this length before except for bendy ones .This one hailed from Norway.

They used to come out of Germany to Spain years ago. They really lean over in a cross wind.Looks like a 15M. Neoplan Megaliner.

Didnt know old [zbs] like you could speak in mtrs Harry.but yes your right i think it was a Neoplan. Certainly looked weird cornering up the winding roads.
Never seen anything that length as a rigid in bus or truck.

The two front axles steer & the last one is a trailing axle. They had even longer ones that bent in the middle.

Like this one being renovated. These are 18m long & take 140 passengers. The other one takes 90 passengers.
I think they have 440 Merc engines.

EU (or was it EEA) legislation should allow length of two axle bus to be 13.5 metre and for three axle bus maximum length is 15 metre while maximum length of a any other vehicle is 12 metres. Articulated bus in the other hand is totally different case and it has same length restrictions as wagon with mid-axle trailer as that’s what it basically is.

I’ve never seen that kind of four axle bus in real life as is on picture, but supposedly same length buses with three axles are fairly common sight here in Finland. Especially three axle urban buses of that length are common sight in few largest cities.

I think you might be right about it being a merk H the way it was struggling up the hills

Have been in transport 38yrs Kyrbo unfortunatly never been to Finland but have travelled a bit including USA & Austarlia & I have never seen
anything that length in rigid form.As we say in England you are never to old to learn. :exclamation:

Might venture your way sometime Ferry`s from Newcastle to Norway regular & also fancy one of those cruises to see the Northern lights

I was in Barcelona last year and the buses that ran on the Airport/City service were 15m Single Deck Neoplans or Setras on 3 axles. Must be fun to drive, although the drivers on the ones I rode on only knew two speeds - stop and fast!

Here is a link to a photo of a Neoplan

and a Setra
