Northern transport esh winning /durham?

does any one know anything about the above company. maybe some of the n/east members??

IIRC used to be Lawsons of Sunderland

If I’m right I would stay clear, but going by the trucks I’ve seen best part of the fleet are old

Spoke to one of the drivers who said they were delivering fireworks without the ADR :open_mouth:

Hi Terry,

The only firm I know that are at ESH WINNING is HARGREAVES transport. If it is another name for them, they run a big fleet of artic tippers. From what I am told its loads of nights away but the tackle is good, mainly late model Scania. I believe you can park the unit near home but not 100% sure on that. They advertise a lot in the local press. I believe they have a few extras such as pension scheme etc.
If its not them then cannot help you as I have never heard of Northen Transport. I cannot believe that there are 2 haulage companies in Esh Winning.

Westie

Nope they aint Tippers, It’s all Tautliners both Rigid and Artics

White Cabs Blue Trailers / Curtains with Northern Freight in white letters

Sure it’s all UK work but could be wrong on the fact the artics might do international (Lawsons Did until they went bump a few year back)

Hi Terry,

Northern Frieght are now based at Peterlee I believe but they may have an out base at Esh Winning! I think they did originally have something to do with Lawsons but cant remember the connection. The only other 1 I can think of is Katem at Spennymoor but you probably know about them …

Cannon Transport and Fergusons, both in Washington were advertising last week in the Chronicle but if your realy desperate, my gaffer could be looking for a class 1 driver in the very near future!!!

Hope this helps mate.

regards

John Vasey

Terry Dunno how right it is but I heard a whisper that W & S Recycling of Poole in Dorset are looking for Class 1 Drivers, they have a Operating Centre base opposite us in Rowlands Gill (Our old Premises) where they drop a couple of trailers for the local rigids to load up.

May be worth giving them a ring, as all the drivers that call in our place for their Microwave dinners (Out of the Freezers) seem happy with the wages and the regularly updated Fleet of Volvo and Daf XF.

They just collect Fridges and Freezers etc to go into the de-gassing plants then run the scrap to Poole I think.
