D59TMB Constructor 30.25. had only done a genuine 325000 kms when it was scrapped in may 2002.
I was taking the last ever load out of D.P.Williams’s Eryrys quarry in 2001.
D59TMB taken in the yard. leyland behind it is D473OFM.
Shot of the yard in 1999. Green cab on the floor is off BEH809Y which had a 230 Gardener engine and was latter painted in pioneers colours.
Three wonderful pics here Dozer mate,I especially like the last one showing the line up.Typical haulage yard full of tippers ! My favourite ! More please if you have any.
I’ll have to get over to this yard and take some pics of the current fleet (permission allowed of course ) next time I’m over your way.Not been over since I was at Hamners place 2 years ago.
That’s a wonderful yard as well BTW.They still have the Routeman’s cab in a corner hidden behind some other old Fodens they’ve got parked up.
Oh and is D473OFM a scrapper in the second pic ? It sure looks like it !
Cheers Bonkey , I spoke to Dozer yesterday and when i get all the pic’s together( Geraint DG has some we can use) i’m gonna go down to his and we’ll put them on. Watch this space… But for now if you’ve got any more i’d really like to see them. I drove for DG for 7 years and my dad drove for H Davies for 18 years but didn’t get many photos
August 2002. Y656YCA next to brand new DG02NTU. D473OFM broken up on the floor!

Heres a little story for you! that j&m garner one (B377). I was in school with melvyn garners son - phillip. In 1984 I was walking to school on my todd aged 10 ( you wouldnt allow that these days!) any way, theres a loud blast of air horns and melvyn is taking phillip to school in B377 (chassis cab)which he had picked up from avonmouth the previous day if I remember rightly. He dropped phil of at school, then took the F7 for a body and ram. that scrapped truck is still in their yard. its in the back shed. I think is was the only dark blue one they have ever operated. the rest being white.
Very nice tale there mate ! Always like the older stories from people who were involved in these pics I post !
Oh,BTW,did the F7 ever carry the black stuff like the other hauliers on this thread ? As for some reason,I doubt it ! (Don’t know why,but I just do ! )
Wow, !! John Lenton, thats a blast from the past. He bought a brand new Seddon atkinson 3-11 8x4 L-10 from the seddon atkinson dealer I was doing my apprenticeship at. If I remember Rightly the reg was E666WTU. sadly he died when it was only 3 years old. P.Davies from northop bought it then it went to its stedy decline once Gary Catton bouight it.
Also regarding Bodfaris foden 3335’s my cousin had P168 new. Alan that works on the weighbridge at tarmac hendre has a picture of the whole fleet lined up at burley hill quarry (one of two that exist). NO chance of getting a copy of that baby unless I drag alan hanging on to it !!
Some shot’s of DG’S yard With some of the trucks he ran and still run’s you can see my first ride in the back ground a Constructor D424SMB with no body on it(290 L10 with a stack and a jake LOTS OF NOISE, and No limiter)the body was taken off when the truck died and was cut down put on a Scania 4wheeler which is still being used. Next to it is a Strato with a 325 ■■■■■■■ which is now sunning itself in Jamiaca lucky thing!(tried to get them to send me aswell)
Then the Foden with a 380 C10 Cat painted in Jones Bros colours.
Steve’s Strato with a 14litre 410 ■■■■■■■ in it .
Another driver had it after and in 2000/2001 it fell over tipping dust in Lafarge Graig.
F950CCC
This is my first proper truck! 290 ■■■■■■■■ Jake brake,Twinsplitter and THREE windscreen wipers… Wot more do you want at 21? Ger bought 2 of these off Cawley Bros LLanrwst( F950-F952) they had 3 from new and kept F951 for a few years after .

I know this is a latter day pic,but a friend of mine sent it over and I thought : What the hell !
Nice old tub that BD, still active but with different driver now. Makes a lovely noise fair play, especially on the jake. My 1st ever ride in a truck was in a Scania 114-280 4-wheeler ( ) and we followed Ronnie around all day (bit of useless information ) running out of Hanson, Aberduna quarry near Mold.
Ronnie (pictured) drove for a long time for Hanmers but left to drive a new Hino on Hansons contract - dunno who drives the old Foden at the moment tbh. Hanmers don’t have many these days, only 3 out regularly as far as I know.
