If you go onto the photo forum and search for Old Oswestry Nev AKA oxo3 has posted a lot of photo’s from the area. There are pictures of W T Hurdsman artics in that thread
Click on the link below.
Cheers Dave.
I think I’m right in saying Nev (oxo 3) was transport manager at one time for W T Hurdsman and once drove the Scania 140 they had.

Geoff Hurdsman purchased that Dennis Big 4 fire engine from me…oh the lure of profit…if I had any sense I should have kept her!

Manor Transport truck that came to grief on A41, 1977 ish
I worked for Thomas bros , Wrexham at the time. I remember that a Manor Transport truck hit a Ford Transcontinental head on on the A41 between Tern Hill & Newport. I seem to remember that both drivers were killed.
I remember Carrons started at Continental Can with Mk2 Buffalo’s with sleeper cabs. A rarity in those days, I drove an N reg Seddon with a Gardner 180.Not a good cab for sleeping, the 401’s where better.
A few pics of the Marshalls trucks I drove that used to run out of Llay before it closed in 2009
The yard is now used by clwyd concrete block company and the haulage is run by Rob Hadfield transport of Buxton,

Not as I remember, they might have done when the yard was run by concrete masonry but that was before my time

Lad from manor was. Davey ? Had a load of ROR axles on for fruhauf trailers hit a transcontinental from Hull, triangle■■? It was blue and white. Opposite the place that sells motorhomes ?Dudleys just south of tern Hill
Used to have some sport in the halfway at tern Hill, many a happy hour playing pinball, did you used to call in there, when Irene ran it. Think her brother worked at Furbers scrap yard when it closed, early 80s.

Hello steelboy , yes i remember now opposite gardencentre , that MAN dealer in Gresford , again i cannot remember there name but do you remember all those MANs they supplied to Bodfari , whist Hannaby up by Ffrith was one of the first customers .
Foulkes from Penyfford , wernt they bought out by some Scottish company ? I believe there tippers used to haul sand out of Stoddards at Llanarmon along with H Davies . And who were the people from Rhydymwyn who had ERF and Fodens on bulk tanker work , they would be in Stoddards as well . thank you Trevor
