does anyone remember a company by the name of normeath …■■ ( that name could be spelt wrong but you get my drift ) .
if i remember correctly they were based up near lancaster and were run by a couple of brothers , they ran trucks into euro once upon a time . the only other thing i remember is that one of them , the brothers that is , died a few years back .
i have no real important reason to ask other than its sunday , i’m bored and its a dim and distant memory…
normheath were a small setup on the lune ind est lancaster i think geoff kiggins had an intrest in the firm i loaded trailers around ■■■■■■■ sometimes .loading for eu or ireland droping trl at cairnryan back in the 80s
Tony Kiggins sold ‘Normheath’ to F E Edmondson of Morcambe in about 88 / 89, staying on working for the Edmondson brothers to run the sub contractors as he had before he sold the business. Tony was (& hopefully still is) a top bloke and one of the most genuine people I ever met in my time in the haulage job, shame there weren’t a few more like him.
Ross.
edit, The sale of the business to Edmondsons was shortly after the death of Tony’s brother Geoff. (“dickies meadow”)
