Normal vs International CPC?

LGVTrainer:
I will give a free artic to anyone that passes in 2012. It is that difficult.

I stand by what has been written

Wheel Nut:
Filed away for future bribery reasons

Don’t lose your filed copy

Wheel Nut:
I will hold him to it for the first person on these forums to pass the new combined CPC exams

Not only the 1st person. Every person that passes the new combined Operator CPC exams. The only condition is that they must have been a member of the board today and pass the new combined exams. Existing National holders taking the 2012 International updates are not included.

dar1976:
I meant his very generous offer of giving away an artic on passing OCPC exams. He wrote it on here so it is technically written in stone

Better than stone, written in binary

Exams are in March, June, Sept and Dec this and every year.

Can we have some details of artic being given away , how old ? make ? trailer ?

It will be one of our artic courses as shown on our website. Produce the CPC pass certificate showing the tests have been passed in 2012, then come and have an assessment drive to make sure you receive the correct length course then away you go. That’s all there is to it.

discoman:
I held Module 1,3 & 5 for PCV, i do believe that Freight is mods 1 2 4 and international is 6?

Hi discoman,
That’s correct so far…

discoman:
after Jan 1st i believe everybody has to hold the international part of the OCPC,

This only applies to those taking courses/exams as from next month (March.)
As from March, There won’t be the coice of Nat. or Int. as there was before, because it will just become that you either have a CPC or you don’t.
Those people who aready hold modules 1,2 &4 ( = a National freight CPC) can carry on as they are if that’s all they need, because it wouldn’t be fair to bring in a new law and then backdate it. New laws usually apply ‘as from’ a specified date, after which the new changes take effect.

discoman:
and OD who have 1,3 & 5 have 12 months to get the international mod that was my understanding of the new rules that came into affect.

This only applies to those people who wish to take the international module and combine it with a present National CPC certificate.

I teach the Op CPC and, IMO, it’s easier now that they’ve combined the courses. The case study section is much more straight-forward as they have removed the “red herrings”.

Sorry John - - you’re on your own with this one!!

Correct me if I’m wrong but you definitely don’t have an Artic. It’s a W&D

Wheel Nut:
An international CPC is an operator qualification, nothing to do with any driver qualification.

On the other hand it could be some daft bint in Driver Hires office who hasn’t a clue what she is talking about.

It says in the advert that the vacancy is for a driver, who must also act as the company CPC holder.

I hope Mrs Bell (other Traffic Commissioners are available) doesn’t see the advert or she might just come asking how a driver working up to or near the limit of his hours would also be able to find the time and commitment required by VOSA’s guidance notes to act as its Transport Manager.

I’m not sure that it legally is, but even if it was he could fulfil his promise by giving a successful candidate one of these.

Well he is famous for changing goalposts so even that may be too big lol

It also says that the driver will be making deliveries in Scotland, yet they want an international CPC holder

Presumably they are assuming future Scottish independence?
