Bearing in mind the internet is rubbish in many parts of Norfolk that doesn’t mean much.

Online shopping requires access to a carrier pigeon.
What are Jack Richards like to work for now? I worked for them 24 years ago and at 23 was the youngest driver there at the time. Old Jack was obviously still about and it was mainly run by son Anthony, is he still at the helm?
As an employed job it was the best place i ever worked for.

How times change - I believe they are now a bit of an eye opener as well as making them water! Tight as ducks you know what! Someone told me they are now Stobarts dressed in yellow!
Have to say when you see some of the trucks now that standards have slipped a bit with the damage on them. Do they employ a lot of non locals now?

A few years back there was a rumour that when Jack died Anthony would sell out to Stobarts.

I think they pretty much like any other large haulage company, good bits and bad.
I did a week for them on agency about 5 years ago, I found them quite easy to work for, minimal paperwork, good instructions, they expected their pound of flesh, but not the impossible, even asked me what time I wanted to start on Saturday early or very early.
But a friend of mine then went to work for them and lastest 2 weeks, they seemed to mess him about, he just couldn’t get on with them in the end he went back to the company he’d been working for.

Yes, they liked their agency drivers, preferred them to the employed ones I believe.
When i was there it was a very family orientated firm with just the yard at Fakenham, everyone knew each other and it had a friendly atmosphere. As places get bigger things change though i suppose…
