Norberts` latest wheeze

A certain relative of mine who works at the Middleton-St George, Darlington depot, tells me that the new depot manager has taken to skulking around the locality in his car, and spying on the drivers. Seeing if he can catch anyone doing anything they shouldnt. i.e. phoning, eating whilst driving, drinking out of a bottle while driving, tapping on the steering wheel, having hair parted the wrong way, not having hands at ten-to-two ect. Hes got some of his mates out spotting as well.

Great for moral I would have thought. No wonder with that kind of initiative he got to the top.

Don’t know him but know the type! ■■■■■■ I think they are called.

The most surprising thing about this is that he has mates :open_mouth:

Sounds like DHL

And they wonder why young uns dont come into the industry.

Spend four grand so you can earn less than having a job where your home every night and the responsibility is a lot lower…

One of the lads in there told me he came from a Stobart’s depot.

If he has enough spare time to run around on a.hole duty, it sounds like he hasn’t enough real work to put his day in, or he isn’t spending enough time doing the real work that being a manager entails. They should sack the zb and get a proper manager in. Do these type of tossers not realise that completely alienating the workforce is counter-productive.

When I was on Roadways a few years back, our TM used to come round to Freightliner to make sure we were in the queue and not having a snidy break :unamused:

As you said, either not enough real work to do, or not the capability to do his job so tries to look too busy doing other bull crap :smiling_imp:

Exactly! and what does he hope to achieve by such behavior, like you say if it’s true he should be managing not hiding in bushes, I once worked with such an individual and he was treated with no respect whatsoever.

I would not take such a manager seriously, and nor would anyone else, I hope it’s a rumor being put about by someone who has had a flea put in his ear by said manager.
Then again some of the clowns who pass themselves of as managers in this industry, it could well be true.
