Yep, then when the Turks get too expensive, it will be Ukrainians and Azerbaijanis.

Funny you should should say that, I parked up last night at the Avus motel in Berlin and LAA trans (orange scanias with tilts) who are known for using Ukranians and Russian registered motors had about 10-15 units and trailers all parked up and all were Porky registered.

Turkish drivers never been really cheap, but are general good drivers with a lot of technical knowledge.
Langen in Geleen and Centum transport in Valkenswaard use to have a lot of them, mainly for middle east and east Europe.
Parked up in Bulgaria and Romenia several times with them, good food, good comeradery between them and they are fantastic cooks.
Has always been easy for them to get a work permit in Germany or Belgium and Holland.

Turks drivers are always good hospitality on the road during away from the home for long period.

Recent in Dover Custom Clearance Freight Centre - Turk driver - Ikra Logistik with fancy yellow axor truck told me his salary are very poor! €500 a month. He also mention most of turkish haulage pay poor money for drivers! he told me he have no choice! :unamused:

I think Turkey joining the EU is very unlikely in the near future, a lot of very influential people in Europe are very against it, especially the French.
And it now look like many in Turkey aren’t so keen on joining the EU.

I also agree with what has been said about Turkish truck drivers, very hospitable people.

Of course what will happen is if truck drivers wages go up across Europe, other cheap drivers will be allowed to work here from outside the EU, despite any promises of immirgration controls, it will be deemed important for the economy of Europe.

ha ha, i’m glad , my old man did 12years for them in france then one friday he was asked to return to france .only to be told that all the english and most of the french drivers were being made redundant at his depot, they was replaced with polish drivers.

well what goes around comes around. :smiling_imp:
