Norbert Dentressangle interview & possible assesment

Out of the blue has come an opportunity to have an interview with Norbert Dentressangle who have a depot just down the road from me. One of my neighbors works for them and after a conversation with him on Monday it appears that Norbert are looking for 2-3 drivers. So a CV was sent in with my neighbor on Wednesday when he was back in, and Wednesday night he came back with an application form for me to fill out. He took said form in this morning and his Transport Manager phoned me with an interview date and time this afternoon :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: .

So fingers crossed for Tuesday at 1500 hours.

Any advice or guidance would be helpful and will their be the possibility of an assessment drive also on the day (not sure on that) or will that come later    .

The assesment is meant to be strict. Just a headsup. Im waiting to hear back from them. Based in the nhampton depot.

Strict as in just like sitting your test again.

All the best mcc46, let us know how it goes

Great news. All the best. Hope you get through

Strict as in just like sitting your test again.

Same as most assessments. 45 min drive, theory test.
General driving, they like Eco friendly drivers. It’s about being safe, keep away from curbs and animals trees etc, goes without saying really.

Today is the day I find out how well I did at the interview as Norberts are supposed to let me know today if I go on to the next stage or not. :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

As you will see from the above previous by now I should of had word back from Norbert’s about a possible assessment drive. Well I’m still waiting to here from them, guess I can write that one off. Why are companies like that as when I spoke to the TM last week he assured me that he would contact all he interviewed to say yes or no   .

Well as they say every cloud and all that. A couple of days ago I applied for a couple of C+E positions locally and today I received a call from one of these companies and I now have an interview with them on Monday morning. They do general haulage and removals, UK and EU. So who knows.

Will post the outcome. Hopefully it won’t be two weeks down the line.

give the guy at norbert a ring , what have you got to lose :bulb: and shows your keen !

good luck

Jen, I’ve tried that a number of times and he does not pick up. The phone does not even go to answer phone, a little odd I think :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: . Over this weekend I’m going to speak to my neighbor as he works for Norbert’s and see if he has a number for his boss on site so I can speak to him to find out what is going on.

Watch this space I guess.

good luck and fingers crossed bud

They have just last week, put a freeze on recruitment.
I dont know if it’s nationwide or just local though.

Today I was due to have a driving assessment with Norberts, but alas it did not happen as I got a txt from my agencey to let me know. Trouble with another truck or something like that so the one for the assessment was put in to service and all assessments were put back. The up shot is that it should be on for tomorrow afternoon so fingers crossed. If all goes well then I should be starting next week on nights for Norbert’s

Fingers crossed.

Any help/ advice with what might happen on the assessment would be welcome.

No seatbelt=instant fail

Easiest assessment I ever done. The guy was a hard ■■■ but we got talking and he just told me drive to XYZ and back. He walked around the yard at the end telling everyone how old I was and he was amazed how well I drove for someone so young.

Let us know how you get on guys - all the best.

The man from Norbert’s said yes. So hopefully tomorrow I will find out time and date to start on nights.

Once at their HQ/ RDC they asked for my licence and digi card to get copies of. Then it was test time answering a number of written questions. I think the guy said you had to get 60% or more before they let you out on to the road.

Out at the 11plate 460 Premium and daily checks done, then on to hitch a trailer. This is where I found one of the air hoses had a split in so was loosing air. Round to see the fitter who changed the hose. Then out on the road with no drama’s and back to the RDC. Park up and down load of digi card and I’m on my way home with a big smile.

Job done.

Well done fella, bet you must be well chuffed  ,

There’s a NB depot 5 minutes from my house, go to the end of my road and cut down a path which brings you out at the entrance. Would be ideal for me but flying pigs and all that

Well done mcc46 - fantastic news mate…

Cheers guys. Once I have the exact date and time then I will let you know.
