Hi Tramper
As an ex-owner driver (retired) I would personally go to their yard and tell them that I am taking some scrap to the value of the sum owed, plus expenses and interest. If they decline then I would block the yard gates with my truck and call the police!!
Once you have the scrap, ou could run it in to a scrap merchant to get our money.
Or if the have trucks/trailers then take a couple of spare wheels and sell them for 50 quid each.
I’ve been out of transport for a while now but that’s the sort of thing we did if we had to, and then some …Good luck and don’t get nicked, its hard enough to earn a living.
Take another load somehow and then hold it for full payment, you can do this as long as the load is not subcontracted to you
Have you tried money claim online - it is a fast track service for going through the courts
moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp
for up to £300 claims it charges £25.
They must prefer to settle a small amount rather than have a judgement against them…
We have used this in the past for small amounts and had sucess each time…
good luck
Personally as the administrators have been called in according to the report above, I think you are wasting your time trying to recoup money by any means. My experience has taught me that as soon as the adminstrators are in there will be nothing at all for unsecured creditors.
I have a bad debt going back some 10-12 years where the company has succesfully sued the water board for about 2 million pounds and the fees that the administrators have taken means there is still nothing for creditors!
if the adminatrators are in, i wouldnt hold ur breath, ive had £1100 taken from me by a company that went bankrupt and it was for my c+e test!! i havent been able to claim it back so i had to pay it again with another company
but luckily i passed 1st time
do another job for them but cash the scrap yourself and stuff them.
