Nobby's Tanker Strike Runcorn

I drove passed the depot in Runcorn yesterday - the old TDG tanker place - and looked like there was some kinda industrial action. Anybody know what’s going on there? Have applied for a job. Bit concerned now.

Transport and General Shirkers union are threatening to pull out their members and wave them at the fuel refineries, or the Polish element of Norbertski Dontstrangleme is on strike.

It seems like you have a choice of grievance to join

Thanks. I didnt reliase that it was so bad there. Id heard that you can earn £30000 easily there and work was steady away lots of big contracts ect.

Nobbys pay the worst for tanker drivers, only £8.60ph up here. Carntynes are paying £9.60. Bp and shell much much more but hard to get with.

But you can ■■■■ that on Stobarts apparently,

Nobbys are trying to cut their money down, they are the best paid drivers in TDG.But as soon as they took over they told the drivers that pay cuts would be happening,so they voted to go on strike.

Its ex TDG employees in dispute with Norbert who have slashed the pension scheme since the takeover.

This is a nationwide dispute, not just one depot . In december it was the Argos depot in Mossend who were on strike .

Apparently it’s happening the next two Mondays as well, and possibly ongoing after that. It’s about pension changes for the ex-TDG drivers, and from speaking to them they do seem to have a point.
