No words!

Words fail me…

Gobsmacked is about right.

I wonder if anyone got his reg?

Doesn’t surprise me
It’s just YET another example of the sort of thing that chimps who call themselves drivers, do these days.
It’s more prevalent since being a complete incompetent d/head no longer prevents you from obtaining a Class 1.
The selection process at training level definitely needs looked at. :bulb:

License?
CPC?
Pulse?

All good, here’s the keys drive…

There is no selection process at many companies, nor any interest in investing in & looking after good staff - just a bums on seats policy. This driver will be sacked & his boss will just phone up the agency for the next clown.

As ever, evidence in this industry of the race to the bottom.

^^^ yup

+1

No selection process but in some cases selection is done by the bosses favourite (incompetent) driver.
Seen it so many times over the years.

Got to wonder if they were just plain ■■■■■■ / high.

Training wouldn’t help if they didn’t get licence here although not saying it wouldn’t be a Brit, plenty of insane people from here.

As for reg, no need, they were stopped at toll booth apparently by police as it was somewhere around the Humber Bridge (ltd info in comments below tweet). Doesn’t say what happened to them.

People are awesome [emoji57]

I am surprised that there wasnt a major smash…as for the driver he doesnt deserve to be on the road…needs to be sent back to training school…which reminds me, if a newly passed car driver commits an offence, doesnt he/she have to retake their test? in this case surely HGV drivers should also be included…or are they.?

6 points within the first two years of holding a car licence, then back to take an extended test … (I think)

Not quite. 6 points within the first two years reverts the car-driver’s licence to a Provisional, so he has to re-apply for (and pass) the regular theory and practical tests, not the “extended” test (which takes about twice as long).

I’ve always thought your HGV entitlement should be endorsable.

Hit a bridge - 6 points.
Tailgating - 3 points.
Etc.

12 points and your HGV ticket is gone. Might help sort things out a bit, especially if operators insurers start being picky about how many points drivers can have.

Good new mate. That system is already in place.

Smack a bridge and it’s either careless or dangerous driving.

Tailgating the same. Perhaps even inconsiderate driving.

Plenty of companies won’t allow people with convictions like these because of insurance reasons.

In fact I do know of one bloke from my agency who smashed a bridge. He not only get points but he has been banned as well. He was a good driver - and for all the stick he’d get on here was one of the most respected blokes on the agency.

This driver will almost certainly be “from the east”.

Skeggy ?

Not even their hazards are on. At least give the oncoming a bit of a chance.

I wonder if this kind of driving - is done by those who’ve already lost their licence “on paper”, but for some reason relating to “backlog” - it hasn’t got through the DVLA and Court system yet…

One reads about stories like “Driver has 985 points on their licence, and hasn’t had it confiscated yet”!

I’m sorry to say this but there are certain countries where if this was shown on tv the only comment would be - when did you say you wanted to got to Lidl, was it tomorrow?

I saw a “traffic officer” driving backwards for about 200m on the hard shoulder on the M40 yesterday.
