I think he has a point. There is a marked difference in the work ethics of the eastern European employees versus the native population.
Maybe this is the reason employers look to employ other nationalities over ‘locals’ If you had a business and were paying a wage and you had the choice of two employees who would you pick?
Employee number 1 gets the job done as soon as possible and is then available to move on to another task and will do this all day long every day. Employee 2 will hang a job out in order to do as little as possible for the same wage as employee number 1.
This is not just based on 2 different forkies I’ve witnessed, but something that seems commonplace nowadays.
Santa:
One problem you can get is stupid managers creating bolshy staff. The forky gets bollocked a couple of times for being two minutes late off his break; he thinks right - bugger that, I will work to rule.

Some of these manager pricks are their own worst enemy. Whenever I’ve been in charge of blokes, if there’s work to be done, nail the ■■■■ out of it & then chill it. Job done.

We’ll maybe I should just change the title of the thread to “everyone have a go at me because I’ve said something positive about a foreigner” I guarentee if it was the other way round everyone and their dog would be on here saying how useless and unhelpful foreigners are.
I think this nails it. Some of the commentators on this thread don’t seem to want to believe that there are lazy workshy Brits out there … Granted, there are also lazy workshy foreigners out there too, but this thread isn’t about them.
Thanks for the sensible replys. many people say the reason their are so many foreigners working here is cheap labour but what I’m saying is that maybe there is more to it.
Employers want good productive workers with a “can do” attitude and I think most employers would rather have someone like that than have someone who is lazy but pay them a few quid less.
