More than once, I’ve let them tell me their stories / tales of woe, then asked with deadly seriousness, "who’s the biggest gonk here, you for spouting your bull ■■■■ or me for listening to it ? "
Has anyone actually called anyone on it?
I find there’s usually two camps, those that smile and nod sympathetically knowing full well it’s BS whilst hoping the paperwork’s done asap and you can escape, which is what I’d fall into. The other is when two BS’ers get together and then get into some sort of BS arms race to see who can trump the other’s BS seeming to somehow not realise that the other one is just a BS’er.
Maybe we should have a little competition to see what the tallest story you can tell to another driver, then come and share here on TNUK, only counts if you manage to pull it off
I do my very best to avoid other drivers at all costs (except those I know personally of course who I’m more than happy to chat with) however there are some occasions where you just can’t avoid it.
My best of late was sat in the cafe at Exelby Services on the southbound A19 a couple of months back and some bloke was in there happily telling everyone about his mates Skoda Octavia VRS that had been “chipped up to 350bhp” and that he had managed to get 185mph out of on the A19. What’s more there were 3 or 4 drivers in there happily lapping it all up as I sat quietly at a table by myself in the corner doing my best not to laugh.
RIPPER:
On Eurotunnel shuttle other day…“my mate got pulled and fined cos VOSA bod could add another turnto his winding handle”…
All the CPC trainers have come across so far are teaching that is a genuine fine (rightly or wrongly)…not encountered that myself but don’t risk it and always check the legs are fully up, IIRC one complete turn was the maximum threshold before you get your wallet out tho ?
Can anyone tell me if the turn is in high range or low range?

They have to make their money. So of course it’ll be low range
Must have been thousands of drivers that missed the Herald of Free Enterprise by two minutes,i get that yarn in every RDC bull manure shouting session at the RDC.
