Just because he’s taken a convenient gap to park up in the queue shouldn’t automatically mean that he hasn’t got the courtesy to tell the yard staff that you are actually ahead of him in the queue.Nor that the yard staff don’t already know that anyway assuming that you’ve informed them of the score in that regard when you arrived ?. 
If not its obviously queuing anarchy out there and you know what you have to do in doing whatever it takes to get your place back from him.

Only advantage it gave me a three hr break so I only need to take a nine now before I head home …
I queue jump quite often when a quarry or recycling yard is busy and load myself. I can never understand why grab drivers queue to load when they load themselves any other time.

At a regular tip last week the goods in staff Q jumped me in front of another driver, well 2 as they stopped tipping the one in front of him as well, simply because they didn’t like him, saw him at my previous tip and came across as ignorant and impatient so can understand, but instead of doing in front of him they sent me round to the front of the factory to tip as they know this driver would of kicked off, but did it so he had to wait longer.
I’m guessing this driver like many in this type of job are on day rate and is trying to get finished as soon as, where as me being paid by the hour and out all week would have been quite happy to take my turn, being polite, courteous and patient at tips even when you are having a bad day pays in the end.
Not a new thing, I remember being dragged off a loading bay around Valencia to let their Spanish mates get a jump start on me. Being Spanish, they all thought it was funny dicking over the only Brit there, sadly the British porters at the London markets we were all loading for, returned the favor and moved me up the queue. Wern’t quite as vocal as they were 3 days previously.
What goes around, enevitiably, comes back to bite you in the arse.
Be nice to one another out there, cause karma is a real thing.
