There was a time back when dinosaurs roamed the planet, where drivers were welcomed, facilities were offered and then BANG…drivers were refused the facilities mainly because THEY abused the hospitality, even if a brush was supplied, drivers would leave their mess without a quick brush around, free drinks meant drivers were filling their flasks and taking more than their fair share of the freebies, In Coca-Cola at Sidcup, free machines were available, but then again drivers were filling up carrier bags with the stuff, and wonder why facilities are being denied.
I’d doubt it was because of drivers. Many factories/ warehouses now don’t even provide canteen facilities for their own staff let alone drivers. Well some fullfill their legal duty by providing a vending machine, thus doing away with catering staff, and stop anyone but staff using the toilet facilities thereby negating the need for a cleaner. As you can tell staff if their facilities are dirty then they need to clean up after themselves. Thats why drivers arn’t welcomed with open arms.
