No comeback on the driver if trailer doesn't have internals

The stuff on the back looks fine, the barrels at the front all need strapping but the front ones look like they’re all ready mid way through falling off, they need something on top of them before strapping too, not a chance i’d take that unless I had ratchets and they sorted those top barrels out.

0 Asked transport for straps to secure load the reply was that they didn’t have any,But it’s ok because there wouldn’t be any comeback on the driver if stopped by Vosa.(DVSA) As the trailer doesn’t have internal straps fitted oh well that’s new one on me…

Any Driver is responsible for the load he or she carries, unless the vehicle is preloaded and has been sealed by a third party ready for delivery.

yes the driver is responsible for the load and security of it whilst he is out on the road even if it has been loaded and sealed by a third party.

And so he / she should be.

What about if a box trailer is security sealed after loading and before you leave the depot?

In my opinion, the kegs at the front need an empty pallet throwing on top, then ratchet straps thrown over. The other ones with the plastic trays are OK with internals criss crossed left-right, so long as there is a tray on top too (like on the 2nd back).

No way they should be going anywhere without any restraint though, any TM who thinks otherwise isn’t fit to be in his position.
