The registered keeper has to recieve it within 14 days. If your driving a truck they can get it and pass the info on and it arrives with you a bit later, thats still fine. Just make sure if your employer is getting one on your behalf that he tells them to get lost if its late. They do allow a few days for post delays etc… but if its far out a company should tell them to get lost, few do however they just pass your details on and thats tat.

Mike thats what I thought but it was a marked van and it did not look like a police van it was marked up something like South Yorkshire accident reduction unit or something similar, and trust me there were two flashes so i don,t kow what it was.
That will be a mobile speed enforcement van, most police forces use them now. it has a mobile speed camera in the back and works exactly like Gatso’s etc only there mobile.

Cant get the above to load. what is the pic of■■? Ta
thats the one, thats very naughty tho where he is parked!!. they have them in the back quite often and just open a window. by the time you see them and react its too late.
Whats the betting if you parked your car on that verge you would get a ticket for the double yellows ?
And when you get a ticket from one of those, do they supply you with a copy of the calibration certificate? Seeing as this is supposed to be performed everytime the van parks up
Arent they supposed to show the limit within a certain distance of the camera device? Regardless of type.
And lets be honest now, how many of you have a black and white circle on your speedo■■?
There you go then…if the enforcement van was parked illegally, how valid is the ticket you get? Argue it in Court, you’ll get it dropped before it even gets there ( I know )
The Road Traffic Act says… you must be served with a NIP within 14 days of the offence…then there is a limit of 6 months before the job goes “statute barred”.
The 6 month thing is the period of time to instigate a prosecution.
Good luck with it, let us know how it goes.
As long as the NIP is written within 14 days it can arrive for weeks after, just has to be dated within 14 days of the offence.
Having no warning signs up or the van being illegally parked is no defence against the ticket, it only means any fines collected cannot be kept by the camera operator.
get a good brief onboard, van is not parked in an approved bay.
A41 Prees Heath, 2 bays built on the long straight there, turns out they were built without relevent permission as vans need to be parked in a recognised area/bay, hence no speed enforcement unit has parked in either bay for the last 2 years!

A mate of mine got caught doing 100 mph down the a303 a couple of years back by a copper with a gun, he asked to see the cert which was 3 months out of date he was still given the ticket but he took a photo on his phone of the cert and he ended up getting away with it.
On another point which i am still happy about. I got a £30 ticket for parking outside my house in an artic at night wthout displaying lights during the hours of darkness. I was well ■■■■■■ off until i realised he had put the wrong date on the ticket, and when the date says i was 200 miles away in Lenham having just got off a boat went down the cop shop after they said when i called the number that i was still liable and he had just put the wrong date on.
Spoke to the cop who gave me the ticket and he asked how he managed to get the ticket on the lorry and i said it didnt matter as when you said i had committed the offence i was no where near there. He said he would deal with the ticket if i admit i was there, i had a witness so said you deal with the ticket first then i might admit i was there. Needless to say i shant be parking outside my house again lol.
