most dongles are pay and go too. however if you cant seem to get a good enough signal wrap the dongle in tinfoil that will normall boast the signalHmmmm, the tin foil hat i wear doesn’t seem to stop the voices in my head so i guess that might just work…
boost your dongle signal on the cheap with this youtube.com/watch?v=yDVydiiB … re=related

if you can get a bt wifi signal and you are with bt then you can log on using bt fon.
Basicaly anyone with a bt homehub has a portion of their broadband set aside for other bt customers to log onto
unless you disable it in the router config page then it is on by default.
even at home i can pick up a signal from one of my neighbours on my mobile/i-pod etc you just scan for networks join the bt fon one and
log on using your normal username/password, there is a download limit but i cant remember it off hand.
According to BT its completely secure (mines is well and truely disabled) but most people dont even know its on.
not sure about out of town but you can always pick up a signal in built up areas and it saves a fortune on mobile data.
The bit about disabling your BT Fon signal. I cannot see your reasoning, if the signal is secure, what harm are you doing by sharing a bit of it? If everyone did this then no one would have a wifi network to use would they. I was in a field for two days and managed to find a BT Fon signal as there were a couple of houses down the lane. We had one dongle that we had to share to post some results around Europe until I found the FON connection.
This isn’t a dig, I am just interested as there are several BT hotspots in my street, one with 90% strength at the moment

Why don’t you try to
log on using your normal username/password
And see what happens then?
Hands up those who can guess the answer!
i am using a vodafone dongle right now, £15.00 for a months use and 3gb data allowance which is plenty unless your often downloading big files,
i can connect everytime even when it says signal very poor
