Quick question, please can someone give me an idea how much as a class 1 self employed driver I should charge for nights away? Thanks
Depends where the work is, what work is like in your area at the moment and how long you want to keep the contract (if there’s a chance of that)
Was a lad down at a yard I was working for the other night who was charging £22.50 an hour flat rate after 7pm and before 6am, another lad, younger with less experience was getting £15 an hour flat rate with £25 night out money.
Both doing the same job for the same company.
Parking, Hotel, Food, Drinks, Taxi into town, Female company, Mini bar…the list is endless… 
Personally you should charge whatever the average is, which is somewhere around the £20-£25 a night + parking whatever the cost is ( unless they have alternative arrangements )
I’d have thought you should charge however much HMRC agrees is the rate tax free because if you charge more then you’ll end up paying tax on it 
You can claim up to £30 tax free so call it that…
