why is it that some people confuse night out money with wages. i have turned down two job offers recently because the wages were between 3 and 4 hundred a week for 5 days/50 hours, but was told its 500 with nights out. is it me am i missing something. surely the wages are for the work done and the night out money is for expenses and inconvenience. i don’t agree with putting them together as a wage. arrrrrghhhhh.
It’s to make the money sound better, plus nights out aren’t always guaranteed are they. I’m a believer in getting a good basic pay first before any little extras.
Well, in the real world night-out money has always been part of your pay, given that nobody spends £27.50 a day on restaurant meals and laundry, it’s just wages you don’t pay PAYE or NI on.
Personally, I would sooner have a job paying £450 a week gross and £30 night out money than one paying £480 a week gross with £20 night-out money if I knew I was going to be doing 4-5 nights out a week. In fact, I would be delighted to work for £1 a week if I got £200 a night in night-out money.

and then have a couple of weeks holiday and a couple of weeks with no nights out when the work goes quite and then pay my bills with all the money i have saved
plus i have no problem spending the best part of 20 euro per day for decent food over a couple of meals without booze and average of 3 euro for a clean shower
