Yes, unless you have negotiated a different amount with your local tax office.

Harry beat me to it
We are been fiddled 18p/day then, thanks guys.
when I worked out of Bristol we used to get an extra £10 a day on top of uk night out when in Europe.
Maximum night out allowance is around £3000.
But the boss will be bankrupt next week and you will have to pay tax on almost all of it.

Maximum - whatever the company has in its bank account.
Maximum before you pay tax on it, £26.18.
had mine made up a few quid more with meal allowance so you don’t pay tax on it

That’s with a day cab, it’s 75% of that with a sleeper cab.

Clear as mud then! Bit stupid if you ask me, you only get an extra 6 quid odd if you don’t have a bunk. What hotel you gonna get with £30?

One just like that guest house on Only a Fools and Horses in the Jolly Boys outing episode
It’s not rocket science! If you have to stay in a hotel etc (e.g. because you have to do a night out and you have only a day cab), HMRC will be quite OK about your employer reimbursing you PROVIDED you produce a receipt etc from the hotel to show that you actually spent that amount.
The flat-rate allowances in the tables quoted are the amounts that HMRC will accept as “out of pocket” expenses with NO receipts etc.
You are not expected to find a hotel for £30!
Ahh, Raymondo, the voice of reason. I understand. They should simplify it now though & forget the distinction between sleepers & day cabs.
