ive been told to switch my night heater on at least once a month to stop it from clogging up but the last time i used it was in april,5days on the trot overnight, but i came to switch it on to try it and the light comes on for about 5secs then goes off same with the cold air blower, does anyone have any ideas what it might be,i know there is power getting to the thermostat to switch it on but thats about it its only 18months old,but it came with the truck so i dont have a bill of sale to contact the supplierâ– â– ? any help much appreciated
mine was doin that, turned out to be a hole in the fuel pipe by the tank, so would assume lack of fuel.

i thought fuel at first cos i was low on fuel so filled it up but to no avail
I have got a reluctant night heater to work by keeping on firing it up, sometimes it takes a couple of dozen attempts.

The clue is in what you wrote, it’s all clogged because you haven’t used it since April . Failing that the glow plug is more than likely buggered and needs replacing. It’s a common fault with all night heaters.

Yep, just keep on pressing that button, it’s like when you are waiting for a lift, it always comes quicker if you press the button more. Same principle.

I have had this problem a couple of times over the years, and it was the glow plug each time.

thats cos i havnt had the need to use it in all the trucks i have driven with n/h it still starts the fan but doesnt burn then the glow plug is tatered but it doesnt even start the fan,as i said in my post even the cold fan doesnt work so i wouldnt put it down to a glow plug
My advice is always the same remove odd socks and pubic hair from the filter, spin the fan, does it turn?
fire it up a couple or three times, does it light and then stop, does it just spin and blow cold?
like a motorbike, check the plug, is it wet?
Is it corroded, is the fuel pump working, is the exhaust and intake pipe still there, they need to be balanced, ie, the same length.
If you are not getting anything happening and probably after removing the socks, check the fuse, some old Eberspacher had a reset button on them if they had been overheating

the fuel pump doesnt have time to start, cos it switches itself off,the pipes are like new and the same lengthIf you are not getting anything happening and probably after removing the socks, check the fuse, some old Eberspacher had a reset button on them if they had been overheating
any ideas where the reset button may be? inside the casing or outside,no socks in the vecinity the rats ate them all

On the last Eberspacher it was on top of the unit, a soft black rubber button that you held down for a few seconds, if nothing there you need to check you have a power feed
Have you checked that the thermostat temperature isn’t set at or above the in cab temp? Been quite warm this past few days.
If so it won’t run as it knows it has no need to do so.
