ROG:
If there is a workforce agreement in place then you can work more than 10 hours
If no such agreement then it is 10 hours maximum working time (driving & other work)
That sounds like something new Rog?.
New if you call FOUR AND A HALF YEARS its been in force as new.
If you went off the job in 1999 and have’nt really kept up with what’s been going on since because you have’nt needed to then that’s as new as it gets. But does it really matter because it’s not a hard and fast rule so as far as I can see those hours regs are just as I remember them (hopefully) that’s if I bother getting back to it all but I won’t be doing anymore night trunking so that’s one problem sorted.

Major changes in 2007 so plenty of catching up to do if you decide to return to LGV driving.
Thanks Rog that’s what I’d guessed as if it seems too good to be true it probably is’nt.At least they won’t be able to say that was all that long ago though. If I come back I should be able to make sure that I’m up to date as I’ve got no plans before about 6 months or so.
Carryfast:
Those long spreadovers are fine just so long as you can give the extra hours back later with longer daily rest periods
Something else which has changed since you went off the job in '99, you no longer have to compensate for reduced daily rest periods so when you ‘do a 15’ you don’t need longer rest periods to give the hours back. that one only changed in April; 2007 though.
Thanks again Rog at least I did’nt have to pay for all of that lot.The computer age has it’s benefits.Anyway been reading through some of it and can’t see too many differences (yet) but I thought that I was knackered under the old daily rest period rules until I found out that 9 hours is supposed to be enough. There’s no point in going home if you’re on trunking and it looks like that digi tacho card is effectively the same thing as the old tacho chart but manual entries seem like a nightmare in comparison. That’s what we said when log books went out though.Hope they provide plenty of paper for the printouts.Bog roll??.
