NIGHT DRIVEING BAN ON THE B10 LANDAU update july 2006

AS OF 1ST DECEMBER;2005-until–MAY2006

FROM 1st Dec untilMay2006 on the
shortcut which a huge amount of traffic uses to save time ,money.fuel, etc
the traffic authorities will be putting in place a driveing ban which is at first
just supposed to be a experiment to see what benifits can be gained or lost
when the ban is in operation,
the route is well known to those drivers who have driven in EUROPE andin this area, while they germans have improved the roads so well that the amount of traffic has increased also due to the geraman road priceing
system (MAUT)
THE DRIVEING BAN WILL BE FROM .2300hrs–to–0500hrs, if you are delivering in this area you will be allowed to drive in and park,
TO ensure that the ban is enforced increased police will be present to check vehicles, further more it has been stated that a vehicle check point
will be in place in"“HINTERWEIDENTHAL”"
WHAT does this mean well either people will go the long way round or the traffic will park up and then drive when it is officaly allowed to do so ,when this happens we will get a possibility of traffic jams, accidents increaseing, and also the amount of toxic gases going into the air willbe stronger than normaly is,but well we must just wait and see.

That is not good new Pete, I use that road a lot and have often used it between those hours. Have to replan now.

Neil what is so bloody annoyning about this is the stupidity of the traffic ministery who at first improve the roads to compinsate the villages due to the noise and heavy use of the roads by the commerical traffic,
If this ban is enforced it will be worse for the enviroment as the vehicles will use more fuel, due to the diversion and also place more gas in the air
the other point is with the ban vehicles will park up and go down this road when driveing is allowed again at 0500hrsin the morning, which means
more traffic, possiblity of jams, accidents due to drivers being stressed out,
I am prepared for a ban of all non EURO motors YES but the newer lorrys
are very much improved in the noise damping, exhaust gas emissions,
these vehicles should in my veiw be allowed to continue useing this road
at all times and therefore not be affected by the ban,

i use that road a lot too but never between those hours, you will usually find me in bed at that time of night, i likes me sleep does i and in my job i get plenty of opportunity to sleep at a proper time, you knows - likes normal peoples does innit.

have to day just read a news report that new time limits will be now put inplace and enforced THESE are as follows
NEW TIME LIMITS from 2200–0600hrs as regards driveing on the B10
LANDAU–PIRMASENS::

And like all other restrictions around Europe that were “just an Experiment” I am sure they will become law at the end of this period :imp: :imp:

IF you think about it,due to this night ban, transport firms have higher costs
due to the longer route and maut costs, and this means more money going into the goverments coffers, which are emptey ,
