In my teens I was nicknamed FRED after a tv character, then when I worked in garages it was LOFTY and on the cb it was either BIG PETE or PETER GOUGH (not my name) on account of who I worked for!

Ah ha, you are confusing ‘nickname’ with ‘screen name’, totally different subjects! I am guessing, by the contents of this post, that your name is Nick and you were born in 2008?

Pete.

close but no cigar … joined here in 2008

Seth is my nickname,it came from a tramp who lived in our village with the same second name as me

I used to be called Wee Black Boab when I was a kid, as I was always manky lol Now it’s just Black Boab :grimacing:

Did get a nickname from a maniac I work with recently… Captain Baldy!!!

I don’t think I really have one (to my knowledge anyway), apart from the ubiquitous ‘sparky’ when I was an electrician. One of my mates started calling me turkeyfoot after my little accident on Christmas day, but he’s the only one who does. I’m sure there are things I get called without my knowledge though!

While back on one of the ships I had the mate or chief officer who was nearing retirement age was having or had had one or two beers to many during a session one night and he proclaimed in a slurred scouse accent that he was proud to have been accepted in the coast trade after many years as Master deep sea and in the shipyard as foreman rigger and given the nickname of Riggy, he was asked to explain and he said it was because he used to be a rigger. ‘No you drunken old sodl’ one of the deckhands told him 'it’s not that, it’s 'cos you are one step from Rigour Mortis settin in.

If you’ve got a number plate in your windscreen with your name on it then I am sorry but you are a genuine thick ■■■■■
